How to play 90-ball bingo
90-Ball Bingo is the most popular variation of bingo played across the UK, Europe, Australia, and many online gaming sites worldwide. Whether you are playing in a traditional bingo hall or joining an online room, the rules are simple, fast-paced, and easy to pick up!
1. The Bingo Ticket & Card Layout
A 90-ball bingo ticket consists of a grid made up of 3 horizontal rows and 9 vertical columns:
Each row contains 5 numbered squares and 4 blank spaces (totaling 15 numbers per ticket).
Numbers range from 1 to 90 and are organized into specific columns:
Pro Tip: Tickets are typically sold in strips of 6. A full strip contains all 90 numbers spread across the 6 tickets, meaning every number called will appear somewhere on your strip!
2. Basic Rules & Game Flow
Buying Tickets: Purchase a single ticket or a strip of tickets before the game begins.
Calling Numbers: A caller (or an online Random Number Generator) randomly draws numbers from 1 to 90 one at a time and calls them out.
Marking Numbers (Dabbing):
In a Bingo Hall: Look for the called number on your ticket and mark it with a marker/dauber.
3. How to Win: The 3 Winning Stages
Unlike some bingo games that only have one winner, a standard game of 90-ball bingo usually awards prizes across three distinct stages:
[ Stage 1: 1 Line ] --> [ Stage 2: 2 Lines ] --> [ Stage 3: Full House ]
1. One Line (1 Line)
Objective: Be the first player to cover all 5 numbers in a single horizontal row on any ticket.
Prize: Smallest payout of the game.
2. Two Lines (2 Lines)
Objective: Be the first player to cover all 10 numbers across any two horizontal rows on the same ticket.
Prize: Medium payout.
3. Full House
Objective: Be the first player to mark off all 15 numbers across all 3 rows on a single ticket.
Prize: The biggest prize of the game!
Note: If two or more players complete a winning combination on the exact same called number, the prize for that stage is split equally among them.
